Freshman Shadowing Day is April 26, 2018!

Arrange to shadow someone in a career area that reflects your interests. Plan to spend an entire day learning about what that person does and consider your own interests and abilities.

All freshmen must complete the online registration by April 16. To consider your interests and abilities when choosing a shadowing site, think about the shadowing you did as an 8th grader. Was that something that you'd like to explore more? Is there another area you would like to learn about? Think about Focus on Your Future Day. Were there sessions that you attended that appealed to you? If so, this is a great opportunity to learn more in depth about a particular career. Consider the courses that you are taking or that you are excited to take. What are some jobs/careers that might be relevant to your areas of interest?

You can also visit the UAHS College Center Website. On the right hand side, under Links, click on Family Connections. Enter your e-mail address and password (student ID, unless you’ve changed your password). Once you’re in, click on the “About Me” tab and check out “My Assessments.” This will give you another opportunity to explore strengths and careers.

Take advantage of this day to learn more about yourself and potential careers!

NOTE: Please shadow someone other than your parent/guardian. Also, per principal requests, 9th graders will not be permitted to shadow at Jones or Hastings MS. If you are interested in shadowing a middle school teacher, please plan to do this in another district. Thank you!

If you have trouble logging on, or have any questions, please contact Jeanne Gogolski, Career Development Coordinator.
